FoodThe value of food these days is under appreciated. It's something everyone has to do a minimum of 3 times a day, contributes directly to your well being and changes from culture to culture. There are literally hundreds of ways to prepare any ingredient and it constantly evolves. However, the modern north american restaurant serves some sort of fast food (including international versions), or insanely overpriced salads. What's exciting to see are snacks and concepts that are migrating internationally such as Bubble Tea (from Taiwan), Korean BBQ, Dosa (India) in addition to new creations. I love exploring new cuisines whether it's at restaurants or at home. My all time favourite food is sushi (from JaBistro), but lately I've been cooking Indian and Korean food.

BadmintonI'm not very good, but I've been playing as an amateur for the last 7 years. As with axe throwing, I constantly look to improve myself and correct mistakes that cost me games. The extra dimension that a sport like badminton adds is the strategy in the placement and power of shots in addition to acquiring the proper footwork skills in order to receive shots effectively.

BusinessBusiness to me is so much more than just trying to make money. It is a method through which one can create changes in the world, whether that's cooking a delicious hot meal for a customer or changing the world on the scale of Tesla. I spend much of my free time trying to think of something that I can contribute to the world.

"Engineering"When possible, I like tinkering with things (usually to fix them). Pictured to the left is one of my more recent finds - an 'EZ oil drain valve'! It replaces your oil drain plug in your vehicle and turns it into a faucet for super simple/quick oil changes! I can finish mine in about 10 minutes =).
I see these projects as puzzles and even if I can't fix the object, opening it up teaches me about how things work. It constantly keeps my mind working and allows me to extrapolate the lessons I've learned into unrelated applications. I also recently purchased a Raspberry Pi in order to learn how to program and start some other projects! |
